Bob Anderson is currently in his twenty-second year as Director of Choral Activities at Linn-Mar High School in Marion, Iowa. He has taught public school choral music in Iowa for forty-one years. His choirs have been selected to many special performances including appearances at the 1992 and 2000 North Central ACDA Conventions and the 2005 National ACDA Convention. His choirs have toured Europe in 2003, 2006, 2009, and 2012. In May, 2014, Linn-Mar Choirs appeared in a performance of Mozart’s Coronation Mass at Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center, in New York City. From 1995-2015 Bob directed the highly regarded show choir, 10th Street Edition. This outstanding group has been awarded multiple grand championship trophies in the past several years. He holds a B.M.E. degree from Westmar College in Le Mars, Iowa, and has done graduate work at the University of Iowa.
Mr. Anderson has served the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) in many capacities. Bob was President of the Iowa Choral Directors Association from 1991-93. He served as the President of the North Central Division of ACDA from 2002-2004 and was the Chairman of the 2004 North Central Division Convention.
Bob and his wife Jill live in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Jill is the choral director at Northwest Junior High in Iowa City. They have a twenty-year-old son, Matthew, who is a percussion performance major at the University of Iowa.
Jaclyn Hussey is thrilled to join the Linn-Mar Music Department as the Associate Director of Choral Activities. In 2011, she graduated from Luther College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Vocal Performance and Music Education. After graduating, Jaclyn taught for four years at Xavier High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. During her time directing Xuberance, Xavier’s prep show choir, they earned Prep Division Champion as well as Best Choreography and Best Vocals for the Prep Division at multiple competitions. This year she is directing Concert Chorale, Cantemus, and In Step, Linn-Mar’s mixed prep show choir.
Jaclyn is an active performer who currently sings in Chorale Midwest, a Cedar Rapids based choir under the direction of Dr. Bradley Barrett. Previously, she had the privilege of singing in the nationally acclaimed Luther College Nordic Choir under the direction of Dr. Allen Hightower. In her free time Jaclyn spends time with friends and her adorable dog, Oreo.
Trent Buglewicz is the Associate Director of Choral Activities at Linn-Mar High School. He is in his third year of teaching at Linn-Mar, directing the curricular choirs Bella Voce and Fortis, as well as the show choirs 10th Street Edition and Hi-Style. He also teaches A.P. Music Theory. Trent graduated with his Bachelors degree in Music Education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He completed his student teaching in Papillion, Nebraska under the guidance of Cheri Helmer-Riensche. Trent is ecstatic about his position at Linn-Mar and is thoroughly amazed by the talent and dedication the students here show every day. Trent has no wife or children, but does enjoy long walks on the beach.
