10th Street Edition

10th Street Edition is an auditioned show choir that is open to 10-12 grade students. The Show Choir consists of 62 singers, 18 instrumentalists, and 10 crew members. This year 10th Street Edition will attend 4 competitions. Along with Hi-Style & In-Step, 10th Street Edition hosts the Linn-Mar Invitational: Supernova. 10th Street Edition is choreographed by Lexi Robson-Buglewicz, April James & Braxton Carr, arranged by Steve Shanley, and directed by Trent Buglewicz with choreography direction from Megan Callahan.  This year’s show is an interpretation of Gabriel Garcia Marquez’s short story, The Very Old Man with Enormous Wings.  When a mysterious man with wings crash lands in a small New England fishing town, the residents aren’t sure what to think.  Is it a lonely castaway, an angel sent from above, or simply a pest who needs to be put out of his misery? Palayo, the owner of the house where the creature lands, tries to protect it from the prying eyes of the masses.

In Step

In-Step is the auditioned mixed prep show choir from LinnMar High School in Marion, Iowa and is open to 9th to 12th grade students. In Step consists of 81 singers, 17 instrumentalists, and 6 crew members. This year, they will attend four competitions in addition to Supernova, LinnMar High School’s Show Choir Invitational. In-Step is choreographed by Lexi Robson-Buglewicz and Braxton Carr, arranged by Steve Shanley, and directed by Sarah Anderson. In this year’s show, the students of In Step Academy have a hard time understanding the assignment after their teacher asks them a simple but important question.  What follows takes them on a journey toward understanding what is actually most important: how we treat each other.
